West Coast bid farewell to veteran Andrew Gaff in their final home game of the season, marking the end of his remarkable career after 280 games in blue and gold.
The 32-year-old led his teammates through the banner one last time, holding his newborn son, Harvey, as they faced Carlton at Optus Stadium on Sunday. His wife, Emma, proudly watched from the sidelines.
During the warm-up, West Coast players sported “Thank You, Gaffy” shirts featuring his face, honoring the two-time All-Australian and 2015 club champion who was drafted with pick four in 2010.
Wearing the No. 3 jersey, previously worn by the late Chris Mainwaring and Chris Judd, Gaff took his familiar spot on the wing for the final time in his 14-season career.
Only Shannon Hurn (333), Jack Darling (297*), and Dean Cox (290) have played more games for the Eagles than the left-footer, who achieved AFL life membership by reaching 300 matches, including pre-season, state, and international rules games.
