Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an incident outside a strip club last week, according to Janet Oravitz of 9News. Court documents reveal Reynolds was shot in the back of his head and left arm in the October 18 incident. Another man was also injured in the shooting, which occurred just hours after the Broncos’ victory over the Saints. Reynolds, who was placed on injured reserve (IR) due to a finger injury, did not travel with the team to New Orleans for that game.

The Broncos signed Reynolds to a two-year, $9 million contract this offseason. While his finger injury initially sidelined him, that concern has taken a backseat following this more serious event. The Broncos have since released a statement via Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, confirming that Reynolds is in stable condition and receiving treatment for minor injuries. Mike Klis of 9News reported that Reynolds has even been spotted watching Broncos practices from the sidelines this week.

According to court documents, Reynolds, 29, and two other men left the strip club just before 3 a.m. on October 18. Two drivers followed them, and gunfire soon erupted. The victims stated there was no conflict inside the club. The vehicle Reynolds was in became disabled on the highway, forcing the men to flee on foot, where they sustained additional injuries while climbing a fence to escape.

Police arrested two suspects on Wednesday in connection with the shooting. Surveillance footage from Shotgun Willies showed one of the suspects observing the victims inside the club before following them.

The Broncos signed Reynolds after trading Jerry Jeudy to the Browns. Having played for the Lions and Rams, Reynolds became a key target for Jared Goff in Detroit, catching 40 passes for 608 yards last season. In Denver, Reynolds was expected to complement quarterback Bo Nix’s offense before his finger injury. Prior to being placed on IR, he recorded 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown in one start. He now shares the spotlight in the receiving corps with Courtland Sutton and younger talents Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and Devaughn Vele.
