Notre Dame secured a major commitment from four-star quarterback Blake Hebert on Monday, flipping him from Clemson to bolster their 2025 recruiting class. This move comes shortly after Deuce Knight, the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback, decommitted from Notre Dame and joined Auburn.

Hebert, ranked as ESPN’s No. 6 dual-threat QB for 2025, first announced his decommitment from Clemson on X and quickly pledged to Notre Dame. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 215 pounds, the Greenwich, Connecticut native had been committed to Clemson since June 2023 and had made two visits to the school, most recently in May.

After Knight’s departure earlier this month, Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli intensified their efforts to secure another QB for 2025, landing Hebert in a late-cycle recruiting effort.

Hebert, who transferred to Connecticut’s Brunswick School for his senior year, had previously played at Central Catholic High in Massachusetts but missed most of his junior season due to an ankle injury. As a sophomore starter, he completed 58.3% of his passes, throwing for 1,748 yards with 24 touchdowns and just one interception.

Blake Hebert joins a Notre Dame class that has seen several recent decommitments, including four-star safety Ivan Taylor and three-star running back Daniel Anderson. However, the Irish still boast nine ESPN 300 pledges, including offensive tackle Will Black and tight end James Flanigan, and rank No. 14 in ESPN’s 2025 team rankings.
